No War on Iran Protest Vigil

SC Statehouse (corner Main & Gervais)

Join us for a “No War on Iran” Protest Vigil held in response to rapid and disproportionate escalation and threats of war with Iran. Gather in front of the SC Statehouse for a sign line vigil, 1100 Gervais Street (corner of Main & Gervais). Some signs provided. Please no profanity. Media will be invited.

50 Years Ago: Dr King’s “Beyond Vietnam” Speech Called Out Racism, Materialism and Militarism

2017 marks the 50th anniversary of Dr. King’s Beyond Vietnam speech, delivered April 4, 1967. A passionate defense of nonviolence, King called out his own government as the “greatest purveyor of violence in the world,” condemning the Vietnam war, a war that was consuming resources needed to remedy poverty and injustice a home.
