Armistice Centennial
Commemoration
SUNDAY Nov 11th 3PM
Memorial Park
700 Hampton St. Columbia, SC 29201
Join us for a short solemn vigil marking the centennial of the armistice ending WWI. We will remember the millions of soldiers and civilians who died in WWI, including approximately 116,000 US servicemen with a special focus on the over three thousand South Carolinians who made the ultimate sacrifice. We will renew the tradition of Armistice Day with a moment of silence in their honor and by reflecting on the need for world peace, a tradition that can be reincorporated into marking Veterans Day. #reclaimarmisticeday

The World War I Centennial Commission has also called for the ringing of bells… “Bells of Peace”… at 11AM on Nov 11th as well.
