ACTION ALERT: Prevent War with Iran, Oppose S. Resolution 65
Senator Graham’s Senate Resolution 65 “Greenlights” an Israeli attack on Iran, lays groundwork for US military intervention
Senator Lindsey Graham (SC-R) and Senator Menendez (NJ-D) introduced Senate Resolution 65, a “sense of Congress” resolution, just as the AIPAC conference was convening in Washington DC and it seems more like a “sense of AIPAC” resolution.” Senate Resolution 65 is a dangerous step toward war with Iran, “greenlighting” an Israeli preemptive attack on Iran and pledging US “diplomatic, military and economic” support for such an attack and building support for direct US military intervention. The sponsors of this resolution hope to pass it before President Obama’s March 20th visit to Israel… take action NOW!

Although Senate Resolution 65 disclaims “nothing in this resolution shall be construed as an authorization for the use of force or a declaration of war” the resolution affirms “that the policy of the United States is to prevent Iran from acquiring a nuclear weapon capability and to take such action as may be necessary to implement this policy.” Further, the resolution states that “if the Government of Israel is compelled to take military action in self-defense, the United States Government should stand with Israel and provide diplomatic, military, and economic support.” Such a preemptive attack on Iran would draw the US into hostilities and is unacceptable to anyone who puts US interests or the interest of peace first.
